Rule Changes
Version 10 of the rules approved
on 10-1-08 are now available
You can
now download the latest rules that were
approved on 10-1-08. The biggest
change was a cheerleading rule which is as
follows:
27.21 AWARDS
a) Trophies will be awarded to 1st,
2nd, and 3rd place in
two cheer competition categories:
1 – Large Category for Pee Wee,
Super Midget, Midget and Varsity divisions
2 – Small Category for Pee Wee,
Super Midget, Midget and Varsity divisions
b) Only teams that place 1st,
2nd, or 3rd in each
category will be announced. All other
places (4th, 5th and 6th)
will be presented participant awards after
the Cheer Off event.
c) Category sizes (Large and
Small) will be determined each year based on
the Cheer rosters of record the Saturday
prior to the Cheer Off competition. Each
division (Pee Wee, Super Midget, Midget and
Varsity) will have the Large and Small
categories determined. There must be six
organizations in each category (Large and
Small) for each division (Pee Wee, Super
Midget, Midget and Varsity). Category sizes
will be based on cheerleader roster numbers
per division not per organization.
d) There will be no
conference champions for Cheer Off, but one
Grand Champion trophy will be awarded to the
one team with the highest total score in the
Cheer Off competition. The winners of each
category (Large and Small) for all divisions
(Pee Wee, Super Midget, Midget and Varsity)
will be eligible for the Grand Champion
trophy.
e) The Mighty Mite division
will not be placed based on their scores.
There are
many other rule changes for the 2008
season that were approved earlier so you
might want to make sure you have the current
copy available. Please download a copy of the
new rules (version 10) and become familiar
with the rules that all players, coaches,
parents and volunteers must adhere to.
